Uninspired? Let us help!

Not sure about you, but for me, a daily, conscious, act of human kindness is not always as easy as it might seem! Sometimes, at the end of the day, I look back and it is not as if I was unkind or oblivious to the needs of those around me. However, wrapped up in [...]

Heroes Needed!

The other day, while at a traffic light my attention shifted to a group of young teenage boys walking along the sidewalk. Though they were obviously youth, they were old beyond their years. Faces that reflected bitterness and anger stared out at the cars or at each other. As they puffed vigorously on their cigarettes, [...]

Dighu For Every Season

They say that for everything there is a season, yet with the changing of the seasons we see that generosity and kindness are made for all four; there is never an excuse to fall behind in love of neighbor! Spring brings with it a sense of newness, of hope, and expectation.  It brings the first [...]

Take a risk!

We are a decidedly safe society. We carry teensy little hand sanitizer containers in our purses and briefcases (just in case), we have medicine cabinets lined with antidotes to minor discomforts, we have our favorite foods and usually don’t like to try anything too extraordinary, we drive cars with airbags at every angle, and we [...]

The Best Kind of Legacy

It is easy to be driven by desire for fortune, esteem and holiday time, for bigger, better and more toys and gadgets, and even for attention. Sometimes too we can get caught up in doing kind things for the wrong reasons, for self-promotion or self-satisfaction instead of out of a desire for the good of [...]

A New Resolution – The Inventiveness of an Open Heart

We tend to think that acts of kindness have to be on a grand scale, but truly it is sometimes the smallest things that have the greatest impact.

The Example of Your Dighu (Good Act!)

Dighu was built because of a recognition that we live a suffering world and that there are so many people who have lost the awareness that we are all meant to serve others in one way or another. Our first goal at dighu is to help people recognize the need to give back and the positive affect that giving has on those that receive and conversely on those who give. The fact that service and good deeds “feel good” is not promoted in the our current culture where the focus on “ourselves” is a mainstay of media and communication. Consequently, gratification more often comes from serving self than rather than from serving others! We want people to realize that by good deeds and service you are in fact getting a diet of what is good for you!

Using Our Influence for Good!

“Teach this triple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech and a life of service and compassion are the things that renew humanity”  ~Gautama Siddharta

Why is it that individuals who are essentially kind-hearted and good people can so readily be drawn into demeaning online behavior that is centered around negative comments, nastiness and even [...]

Reawaken Our Responsiveness!

Through the recognition of the needs of others and your response to those needs you are taking steps towards true freedom, a freedom that will help you thrive in a world that makes it hard to be the person we were created to be….a loving, respectful, caring person who is responsive to the needs of our suffering world. And the beauty is that your responsiveness through service to others is in fact the best way to serve yourself and to make your own life better.
